How buying a film works, before you buy one.
What do I get when I buy a film?
2 viewing passes and 2 downloads. A feature is £8 and a short is £2; the film’s page says which it is before you pay.
What counts as one viewing pass?
A pass opens the moment you press play and lasts 24 hours. Pausing, coming back later, rewatching a scene, or starting again from the top inside those 24 hours is all the same pass. Opening the film’s page does not use one — only pressing play.
What happens when both passes are used?
The film’s page offers to sell it to you again, which gives you 2 more passes and 2 more downloads. Any copy you already downloaded is still yours.
How do downloads work?
From your library. Each press of the download button uses one of your downloads and gives an address made for your account that works for one hour. The file is a plain MP4 with no copy protection — our choice, because we would rather trust the people who pay us.
Is anything free to watch?
No — every film is bought, members included. There are no adverts either, ever.
What does membership give me?
£10 a month or £100 a year gets you half price on every film you buy, unlimited streaming of the films you have bought, and 3 downloads of each of them per calendar month, reset on the 1st. It does not include any film you have not bought.
How do I get the member price?
Be signed in when you buy. We cannot tell who somebody is from an address typed at the checkout, so the half price goes to the member who is signed in.
What if my membership ends?
The films you bought fall back to 2 viewing passes and 2 downloads each, counted fresh from the day it ended — whatever you watched while you were a member does not count against them.
What if a film leaves the site?
Its licence may end and it may come off the shelf, but not out of your library: the passes and downloads you have left on it still work, and a copy you downloaded is yours.
Can I get a refund?
If you bought a film and have not watched or downloaded it, ask within 14 days and you get your money back. If one will not play properly, you get your money back — that is your right. The terms have the rest.
Do you watch what I watch?
We keep a record of when each pass is opened and each download taken, with the town and country your connection comes from, so we can spot a film being shared. Nothing is blocked automatically. How far people get through a film is counted with no account attached at all. The privacy policy says exactly what is kept.
