AI policy
Nothing in a film here was generated by AI. This is what that means for the films and everything on their pages, how we check, and what we will never do with anybody’s data.

1. The films
Nothing in a film here was generated by AI — not a shot, a face, a voice, a note of the music or a line of the script. The same goes for everything on its page: the poster, the stills and the trailer.
The line is generation. Tools that only clean up what was shot or recorded are fine — reducing noise, steadying a shot, grading the colour, cleaning up dialogue. Anything a model generates is not.
2. Subtitles
The one place a machine may help is subtitles. If software transcribes them, or translates them, a person checks every line before the film goes up. They carry the actors’ own words, written by a person — and we would rather say so here than leave it unsaid.
3. How we check
We are setting up checks: every week, films chosen at random, with stills from them and their posters and pictures looked at by a detection service. A detector can be wrong — heavy grading, CGI and animation can fool one — so a flag goes to a person, never straight to a decision, and we ask the filmmaker before anything else. The service has to agree in writing to keep nothing we send it and to train nothing on it, or we do not use it.
4. If we find it
If a person confirms a film has anything generated in it, it comes off sale. Anybody who bought it keeps it, to watch and to download, as with any film that leaves the site. We do not accuse anybody in public.
5. No film is supplied for AI training
No film here is ever licensed, sold or supplied to anybody to train AI, and the agreement every filmmaker signs with us promises the same.
6. Your data
We never sell or give anybody’s data to AI companies, and we never use it to train AI. The only outside service that sees anything from a film is the one that checks it for us, and it sees still frames and pictures alone — never who you are, what you watch or what you bought — keeps none of them and trains nothing on them. The privacy policy has the detail.
7. If you make films
When you send us a film, tell us about any tool with AI in it that you used — clean-up tools and subtitles included — and you confirm nothing in it was generated. Not sure whether something counts? Ask us before you send it.
8. Holding us to it
If you think anything on this site was generated by a machine rather than made by a person, write to contact@cyberpunkstudios.co.uk and say so. We will answer you properly. This is the detail of one of the two things we will never do.
